Lesson 11 Dialogue Fast Mover
Ruby: Well, you know, even though sales are sluggish now, I think that we could enhance our product line by teaming up with a foreign producer.
Acton: That seems right. So much turbulence in the market has slowed sales, but the new trade agreement about to be signed should be a window of opportunity.
Ruby: Also, the national think tank has new research that confirms that international partnerships are great leverage for getting into new markets.
Acton: That's right. So to capitalise on the opportunity, we should assign a task force to study how to best approach a partnership what terms and agreements we want, and what incentives we can offer.
Ruby: As we enter new markets, it is more important than ever to make our products intuitive, so that people across cultures find them natural to use.
Acton: Our CEO always preaches about first mover advantage.
So, now seems a fine time to prove good on the philosophy.
We could be the first to build the next generation of products.
Ruby: Well, moving abroad and moving quickly poses hazards, so we must be thoughtful, too.
Acton: Plus, there might be backlash in the company if we have to downsize staff or if our products become produced too globally.
We need to consider all our connections.
Ruby: There's so much to consider these days! Let's just hope we turn a profit this year!
