Preparing for BEC Vantage Speaking
Candidates should
1.familiarise themselves with the form, function and procedures for all parts of the test
2.take every opportunity to practice their English in groups and pairs, both inside and outside the classroom before the test, particularly in a business environment, if possible.
3.take opportunities to show what they are capable of and try to produce an extended sample of language for the examiner to assess
4. listen carefully to instructions and questions asked throughout the test
5.ask for repetition of instructions if you are unclear about what to do
6.try to avoid long silences and frequent pauses
7.be prepared to initiate discussion in Part3, as well as respond to what their partner has said
8.speak clearly and loudly enough for the examiners to hear
