Chinese special envoy to Darfur, Liu Guijin, continued his visit to Sudan on Wednesday.
During a visit to West Darfur, Liu extended Chinese people's warm wishes to Sudanese.
"Our best wishes, our best congratulations on behalf of the Chinese government, on behalf of the 1.3 billion Chinese people which is 23 percent of the world total. Believe me that China will remain good friends of Sudan, the Chinese people will remain friends of the Sudanese people, we have our solidarity with you, we wish you good luck, good fortune, good development."
Liu also called for more international efforts on the war-torn region.
On the same day, Sudanese President Omer al-Bashir Wednesday said that Sudan was grateful for China's unremitting efforts to push forward the settlement of the Darfur issue.
Liu is currently on a four-day visit to Sudan. It is also his fourth tour in the country since his appointment last May as the Chinese government's special envoy for Darfur.
