In the city of Macau, people say they are ready to embrace the Olympic torch relay.
In the latest pre-relay press conference, the first vice-president of the Macau Olympic Committee Manuel Silverio said the Macau people are proud to witness to this historical moment.
"The Macau leg of the Olympic torch relay will start at the city's Fishermen's Wharf and will last about 3 hours. The president of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, and the chief executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region, Ho Hau Wah, will both be attending the opening ceremony for the event which will include 120 runners carrying the torch along a well thought out relay route."
Silverio said the 27-kilometer route includes many of Macau's scenic spots, such as the famous Ruins of St. Paul and the Temple of A-Ma.
