International Coal Industry Expo Opens in Northeast China

The second China International Coal Industry Expo has opened in Jixi(Geeshee) city of Heilongjiang province. Besides productivity, energy-saving and environment protection have become the new focus of the exhibitors.

On the first day of the Expo, around 140 enterprises from all parts of the country gathered at the expo with their newest product. Except for trading volume and innovated technology, what they talk about the most is environment protection.

Wang Changling is the general director of Longmei Machinery Equipment Manufacturing Co,. LTD, the biggest coral enterprise in Northeast China.

"On one hand, we have tried our best to reduce the energy consumption of our products. When we design the equipment, we choose the most energy saving spare-parts, such as transformers, frequency modulators or even the switches. On the other hand, we support the recycling economy. We recycle some of our specific products. After being reengineered and repaired, they work as fine as the new ones. Last week we just set up an Energy-saving department to take care of both of these work specifically."

While studying how to make their products more environment-friendly, more and more companies pay attention to the factory's daily operation.

Xi 'an Coal Mining Machinery Company is one of them. Vice manager of the company Hu Guo'en (扈国恩).

"We paid lots of efforts in energy consumption reduction. For example we have stipulated that the air-conditioning temperature in the workshops and offices can not be lower than 26, and all the bulbs are energy-saving ones as well. In the past, we really overlooked environment protection. But now we knew its importance."

Due to the business strengths, some coal enterprises may lack behind in the field. To help them catch up, local authorities in Heilongjiang have opened a website named Geo-Show. Zhao Xiaobin is the director of the website.

"Everyday we update the latest information in the coal industry, including the newest technologies, the energy consumption reduction developement and the purchase information. We also provide customization service. If the companies have problems in the field, we have experts to teach them how to improve."

The 3-day China International Coal Industry Expo is expected to see a trade volume of 670 million Yuan.
