The number of people around the world with peripheral artery disease, or PAD, has risen dramatically -- by almost 25 percent -- in just 10 years -- according to a new study in the Lancet medical journal. People with PAD have a higher risk of heart attack and stroke. They live with irreversible disability. And as VOA’s Carol Pearson reports, they are likely to live in low or middle income countries.
