The dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy is now in the hands of Ripley’s Believe It or Not following an auction in Los Angeles.
The iconic, form-fitting gown was sold for $4.8-million on Thursday.
She wore the flesh-colored dress, which has more than 2500 hand-stitched crystals on May 19, 1962, for an early 45th birthday celebration for President Kennedy at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Monroe was found dead from an overdose just five months later.
