Members of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference or CPPCC are arriving in Beijing from around the country. They are gathering for the fifth annual plenary meeting, which will start on Friday.
The CPPCC is China's top political advisory body. It consists of figures representative of Chinese society, who advise the government, and legislative and judicial organs.
Attending this year's event are over 2,000 members from 34 sectors. They started to register for the meeting on Wednesday.
Some arriving CPPCC members spoke about the proposals they will take to the annual event.
"In my field research in rural areas, many returned migrant workers and college graduates need preferential policies to support them to start business back home. Introducing such policies will help attract them to go back to their hometowns and keep them there."
