We really do not believe that the DPRK is ready to engage us towards denuclearization. We make clear among ourselves that denuclearization remains the goal. And we very much want the DPRK to take steps towards that.
And China's special representative for Korean Peninsula affairs, Wu Dawei, also arrived in Japan on Tuesday. He will discuss with Japan how to address the DPRK's provocative actions.
Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov also expressed concern, saying Russia will not tolerate the escalation of tensions on the peninsula. He urged all parties, including the US, to exercise restraint.
And the United Nations Security Council is to hold a ministerial-level meeting on Friday on the DPRK.
