Now let's talk the numbers. The cooperation between China and Africa has yielded many tangible results for the African population. China has been Africa's largest trading partner for the nine consecutive years since 2009. From 2000 to 2017 the total trade volume increased the 17 times. And in 2017 China's a trade with Africa jumped 14 percent year-on-year to 170 billion US dollars since 2015 when Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed at a major China Africa cooperation plans. China has created some 900,000 jobs in Africa. A 2017 McKinsey report looked at over a thousand Chinese companies in eight African countries and showed 89 percent of their employees were locals. And past few years have witnessed an increase in cultural and people-to-people exchanges and there are more than 130 pairs of sister cities between China and Africa.
