I'm Ashley Dvorkin with a FOX Celebrity Profile on actor Henry Golding, who stars in two major films this summer. The box office topper 'Crazy Rich Asians' and the Blake Lively-Anna Kendrick thriller 'A Simple Favor'.
We spoke about the bigger picture impact of 'Crazy Rich Asians': "Never seen representation like that. And never seeing an Asian man portrayed in a stoic, handsome manner... And having integrity. That's been missing in these roles."
He elaborated on how his new film does this as well, commending Director Paul Feig "Having a Director who is true to who he is, has sort of been creating for the past career of his and pushing the envelope when it comes to female leads to color blind leads...My character Sean is a lead. He's not an Asian lead, he is the actor for this job... So both of those give inspiration for a lot of people and so you know, it really is doing justice to that sorts."
