That was Elvis Presley's private jet. It is about to take off at the auction block. The jet has been sitting on a runway in Roswell, New Mexico for over 30 years with red velvet seats and a redshag carpet. The 1962 Lockhead Jetstar was custom designed by the King.
However, the plane will need some work to fly. The red Jetstar has no engines and needs a restoration of its cockpit.
Liveauctioneers.com says the jet was owned by Elvis and his father before going to a private owner in New Mexico. The plane estimated between $2-3.5 million. It will be auctioned May 27 at the GWS Auctions.
