A man has died after being shot in the leg by police during a confrontation on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Police tried speaking to a 53 year old man following reports of a domestic incident when he allegedly produced a weapon.
63 people have died and 182 more have been injured in an explosion at a wedding hall in the Afghan capital, Kabul. Eyewitness reports say a suicide bomber detonated explosives during the wedding ceremony. Hundreds of people were believed to have been inside the hall at the time of the attack.
And in cricket, England lead Australia by 104 runs at the end of day four of the second Ashes test at Lord's. Steve Smith made 92 after briefly retiring hurt on 80 when he was struck on the neck by a Jofra Archer bouncer.
