Australia is experiencing a reprieve from devastating bushfires in the form of floods. Heavy rains hit the eastern states on Thursday as a tropical cyclone looms over the country's northwest this weekend. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued severe thunderstorm and flood warnings. The wet weather has helped slow down some of the country's most damaging wildfires. However, officials warned the threat is not yet over. 60 fires are still burning across New South Wales and Victoria. More than eleven point seven million hectares of land and billions of wild lives have been destroyed since September.
