Wow!Look at this!I wonder what it might be.
Well,the bottom part is made of shiny metal.
It looks like a giant stove.Do you think people might use it to cook?
But look at the top.There are pieces of wheels.
It might be some kind of a machine to make something.
The stuff them comes out of the black box at the right.
It really is strange.I can't decide what people might do with it.
Look at this big red plastic button.The thing may have a motor in it.
Do you think it might move when you press the button?
Let's not try.Wait.I see a label on the other side.
It might tell us the name fo the invention.Let's look!

The Flying Machine by Tell Silver
1."Mouse,"Rosa said."I am going to fly to Grandma's house.
It will be my first flight."
Rosa's news made Mouse think.
"I want to fly to Grandma's house,too,"he thought.
Then Mouse smiled."I think I can solve this,"he said.
"I can invent a flying machine for a mouse."
2.Mouse got some wood and some cloth.
Then he found some shiny paper clips,an old shoelace,
a metal wheel,and a leather belt.He got some glue.
"You never know what you might use to make a mouse fly,"he said.
Just then,Bird flew by."I know,"said Mouse.
"I can make wings like Bird's."
So Mouse cut the cloth to make two wings.
He glued them to pieces of wood to make wings.
3."Now I have brand-new Mouse wings,"Mouse said.
He ran to show Rosa the wings."Look at my invention!"he said.
Rosa looked at him."What an invention!"she said.
"Thank you,"Mouse said."Look!Now I'm going to test them."
"Be carefull!"said Rosa.Mouse ran to the end of the table.
The wings went up and down.
"Well,Mouse,"said Rosa."They might work."
4.Mouse then jumped into the air.But he did not fly.
Instead he went down,down,down,..right into Rosa's hands!
"I caught you!"she said.She looked at Mouse.
"But why did you do that strange experiment anyway?"
"I wanted to invent a special flying machine
so that I can go to Grandma's house,too,"Mouse said.
Rosa pointed up to the sky.
"You don't need a special flying machine for a mouse!
You can fly with me-on an airplane."And that is what they did.
