基础篇2: The Best Art Critics

1]I am an art student and I paint a lot of pictures. Many people pretend that they understand modern art. They always tell you what a picture is "about".2]Of course, many pictures are not "about"anything. They are just pretty patterns. We like them in the same way that we like pretty curtain material.
3]I think that young children often appreciate modern pictures better than anyone else. They notice more.
4]My sister is only seven, but she always tells me whether my pictures are good or not. She came into my room yesterday.
5]"What are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm hanging this picture on the wall." I answered."It's a new one. Do you like it?"
6]She looked at it critically for a moment. "It's all right,"she said,"but isn't it upside-down?"
I looked at it again. She was right! It was!

〈边读边谈〉

1. be about,指画的内容，写的什么内容等。但下面的一句话，意思是“忙，干”
e.g. What are you about? 你在忙些什么？
I don't understand what this book is all about.

1]我是一个美术学校的学生，我画了不少画。很多人假装懂得现代艺术。他们总是跟你讲某一张画画的“内容”是什么。
2]当然，有许多画是什么“内容”都扯不上的。它们只不过是些美丽的图案而已。我们就象喜欢美丽的窗帘料子一样喜欢这些画。
3]我认为年轻的孩子们欣赏绘画的能力比谁都强。他们注意的东西比较多。
4]我的妹妹年仅七岁，但是她总是告诉我，我画的画是好还是不好。她昨天到我的房间里来。
5]“你在干什么？”她问道。
“我正在把这幅画挂到墙上去呀。”我回答说，“这是一幅新画，你喜欢吗？”
6]她挑剔地看了一会。“挺好的，”她说，“不过，画是不是倒挂了？”

知识点小结:

1、不是任何动词都可用进行式，我们只说“Do you like it?"而不说“Are you liking it?"同样，人们常说“I forget his name."却不说“I am forgetting his name."

2、类似的动词还有：appear, appreciate, believe, feel, hear, know, like, look, notice, remember, see, resemble, think, understand, etc.
