Q: A burglary at a Chinese businessmen's apartment in Ekaterinburg, Russia on December 21 caused the death of one Chinese citizen and injury of another. Please brief us on the investigation into the case and the work done by China.

A: This is an individual criminal case. Paying high attention to the case, the Chinese Consulate General in Ekaterinburg immediately sent consular officials to the crime scene upon learning the case to help the Chinese businessmen report the case to the local security authorities. They lodged representations with the Russian side, calling on them to clear up the case as soon as possible, bring the perpetrators to justice and take effective measures to ensure the safety and lawful rights and interests of Chinese citizens in Russia. The Consulate General also posted a message in a timely fashion to remind Chinese citizens in Russia to raise security awareness and take extra precautions. The Chinese citizen injured in the case has been discharged from hospital. The Russian police is investigating the case.

The Center for Consular Protection and Assistance of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Consulate General in Ekaterinburg will continue to follow the development of the case and provide assistance in dealing with matters concerning the death of the Chinese citizen.

问：据报道，为缓解南苏丹紧张局势，非盟和伊加特已派出联合调解团赴南苏丹斡旋，部分国家也已派遣特使前往南苏丹。请介绍中方所做工作。

Q: In order to reduce tensions in South Sudan, the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) have sent a joint mediation mission to South Sudan. Some countries have also sent special envoys there. What has China done?
