 Elaine同学询问如何用英语表达“事与愿违”，呵呵，有个很简单的单词：backfire就可以表达这个意思了，backfire是个不及物动词，(内燃机等)发生逆火, 发生回火；(枪炮)向后爆发；发生意外, 产生事与愿违的后果：

His plan backfired on him, and he lost all his money. 他的计划事与愿违, 因此他的钱全亏掉了。
His scheme to win the girl backfired and she went to another guy. 他追求那女孩的计划产生了反效果,现在她已名花另有主。

The surprise I had planned backfired on me. 我设计好的惊喜卻产生了适得其反的后果。

The new pricing strategy backfires, and our marketing director got fired. 新的价格策略适得其反，我们的市场总监也被炒掉了。

If it backfires you can just tell them it was my fault. 如果事与愿违，你可以告诉她们都是我的错。


Job interviews can be very scary especially if you get caught lying. 求职面试可能会让人感到提心吊胆，尤其是当你撒的谎在面试中被揭穿的时候。
