put a face to the name------- 见到真人

大家好，欢迎来到小强英语。有时候我们听过一个人的名字，但是却没有见过他真人。直到某一天，终于见到TA了。这时候你可以说：It's nice to finally put a face to the name.很高兴，终于见到你本人了，终于知道你长什么样了。其中put a face to the name意思就是将某人的长相跟TA的名字“对上号”。比如：

Hi, so you’re Xiaoqiang. It’s nice to finally put a face to the name.
你就是小强吧。很高兴见到你本人了。

假如事先听过某人的声音，但却没见到过TA，初次见面的时候可以说：It's nice to finally put a face to the voice.也就是将长相跟声音对上号、见到真人的意思。比如：

Terry, right? I called you last night. It's nice to finally put a face to the voice.
你是Terry吧？我昨晚给你打过电话。总算见到你真容了。
