Lesson 18 Key Conversation Do Something about It
Jessica: Can you believe all of this garbage?
Keith: I know. I remember when we were just kids and we used to play in this field. Now I fear the litter bugs have turned this place into a dump.
Jessica: Yeah, I'm no tree hugger or anything, but so much of this stuff can be recycled.
Keith: Don't tell me you actually believe in this recycling business. I mean, it's just some feel-good thing that the media is trying to ram down our throats.
Jessica: Well, so much of the garbage that ends up in landfills can be recycled. That would save a lot of time, space, resources, and money for future generations.
Keith: Yeah, but I have enough to worry about already without also having to separate my cans and bottles.
Jessica: Then you're no better than those who litter in this field. What next? Are you going to tell me that global warming is just a hoax, too?
Keith: Well, that I can't deny. With the landslides from clear cutting, the strange weather, and the acid rain, that's proof enough for me that people are wrecking our world.
Jessica: So, why not do something about it?
Keith: You're right. I think I'll from now on.
