Yes, in California. It was the 1971 San Fernando earthquake.I was still asleep but obviously it awoke me. Glasses and dishes were falling out of the kitchen cabinets. Pictures were swaying on the walls--then falling. I was alarmed but not deathly afraid. Luckily, my husband and I were both safe.
