曾经听过一个很有趣的小故事，古时有个大臣的手和脚还有舌头某一天忽然争吵起来。
手说：“我才是最重要的，主人每天小到起床、穿衣、吃饭、写字都需要我，我的功劳是最大的。”脚听了不服气，便说：“主人要是没有我，每天都没有办法行走，没有我，主人哪都别想去。”这时候，舌头站出来说：“你们这样争好无趣哦！”
手和脚一听嘴这样说，便联合起来对付舌头：“你这个好吃懒做的东西，每天除了说废话就是吃东西！你怎么可以和我们比呢！”
这时，舌头不紧不慢的说：“明天我就让你们知道我的厉害！”
第二天，大臣去上早朝，朝间，舌头故意说错了话，按照朝廷律法是要斩手斩脚的，这时手和脚都瑟瑟发抖的求饶。于是舌头说了另外一番话，不仅使得龙颜大悦，而且还巧妙的化解了这次危机。
这个小故事虽然看起来荒诞，但不能否认的是，口才对一个人的重要性。会说话的人，总会顺风顺水，不会说话的人，处处碰壁。今天我们来学一个英语俚语，slip of the tongue，直译过来是舌头滑了一跤。那它究竟是什么意思呢？

Origin 俚语起源：
A slip of the pen was first reported to be used in the 1650s by a British man. He'd written a letter professing his unending love for Lady Catherine, his love interest. On opening the letter, she saw that he'd signed off the letter with the words "Within Love" instead of "With Love". When Lady Catherine related this to him days later, he'd laughed and said, "Oh, it was just a slip of the pen." Those around loved the expression and it caught on, and years later, around 1725, its sister phrase a slip of the tongue began to become more popular, as people also made mistakes while speaking not just while writing.

Meaning：
1.an error in speaking in which the speaker says something unintentionally（不小心的口误）
2.an unintentional mistake in one's writing, such as incorrect spelling, choice of words, or meaning（不小心的笔误，比如拼写，用词及表达的意思等）
