Xiaohong：The situation in Chongqing is even more difficult and complex. But the people's spirit is resolute and indomitable.

小红：重庆的形势更加困难和复杂。但人民的精神是刚毅不屈的。

Xiaohua：Speaking of Chongqing, it's well-known as a furnace in China. This summer has made it the white-hot pinnacle of the unrelenting heatwave, up to 45 degrees centigrade by day and remaining in high 30s overnight.

小华：说到重庆，它是中国著名的火炉。今年夏天无情热浪使得重庆达到白热化顶峰，白天高达45摄氏度，夜间高达30摄氏度。

Xiaohong：Things are getting harder and harder. Rivers are dried up. Hydroelectric power becomes insufficient.

小红：事情变得越来越槽糕了。河流干涸，水力发电不足。

Xiaohua：And what's worse, drought and wildfires are hitting Chongqing.

小华：更糟糕的是，干旱和野火正在袭击重庆。

Xiaohong：A renewed epidemic outbreak makes the situation even worse.
