Shou Zi Chew, the TikTok CEO who was grilled on Capitol Hill, has shown he can face the heat as a Singapore Army veteran and Harvard business school graduate.

He and his wife Vivian Kao are a couple who often finish each other’s sentences. The two met over email in 2008 shortly after they’d both been admitted to Harvard Business School, but neither could have predicted that a dozen years later they’d be married with two kids and a dog, living in Beijing.
