Lesson 57:
Let's Clean Up!
It's noon.Jenny,Brian and Danny are outside in the school yard.
It's a nice,sunny day,says Brian.
It would be fun to play.But look at all of this rubbish!
What does 'rubbish'mean?asks Danny.I don't know that word.
Jenny laughs.That's how people in England say 'garbage'she

says.
Then you're right,Brian,says Danny.
There's a lot of rubbish in the school yard.
Somebody should pick up that garbage!Jenny says,Why don't we do

it?
It would take too long,says Danny.
There are only three of us!
But we have lots of classmates,says Jenny.
They can help us.Each student could clean up a bit of the

school yard.
We'd be done in an hour!
We're studying pollution in class this week.
Garbage is a type of pollution.This could be a class project!

says Jenny.
That afternoon,Jenny explains the plan to the class.What a good

idea!
says the teacher.Let's get to work!I need another bag!
This one is almost full!
Danny,remember when you lost your homework last week?
Yes.Look at this piece of paper!I think I found it! Oh,no!
