【解词释义】此语多用来表示ask the reason for something，即指“原因，原由”，尤其是指对行为古怪的人们询问为什么会如此做。

【例句-1】What with one thing and another, I forgot to tell you we couldn't come.

因为事情很多, 弄得我忘记告诉你我们不能来了。
