英语成语词典有很多，一般都有button one’s face这一条，意思为“闭嘴（不说话)”、“守口如贫”，有时也说button one’s mouth/lips,可能后一个说法更形象，把嘴/嘴唇（用纽扣）扣起来当然就不能开口说话了，如：

I am trying to listen to the radio—either button your mouth or get out.

我要听收音机，你们要么闭上嘴，要么出去。

因为拉链比纽扣还方便，因此也说zip one’s lips。
