科技革命 Scientific Revolution
Tasia R. Another revolution occurred in the seventeenth century, with its roots based entirely in the creation of new ideas. This was the Scientific Revolution, and its basis was entirely in the intellectuals and scientists that dared to challenge old, traditional ideas. For example,in 1543, the Copernican hypothesis was published. Copernicus stated three appalling new ideas; firstly, stars only appear to move and they are actually still, secondly,it suggested that the universe was far larger than initially believed, and lastly, it destroyed ideas of earth being special or heavenly by representing it as just another planet. New ideas such as these thoroughly progressed the way people thought, and think today.
点评:我喜欢这篇文章逐条地描述哥白尼的理论。很多孩子会只提到哥白尼的日心说理论,然后就结束了。而Tasia把3条理论写得十分详尽,表明她对科学十分关注。
