4月5日至7日，2014中国·都江堰清明放水节暨夏日旅游启动仪式在都江堰举行，开幕当天举办了拜天地、拜李冰、拜万物等丰富多样的活动，传承千年的民俗文化。

中国都江堰清明放水节暨夏日旅游启动仪式于4月5日在四川省开幕。

【讲解】

Dujiangyan Qingming Water-Releasing Festival是都江堰清明放水节；summer travel season是夏日旅游季。
清明放水节的历史可以追溯到（date back）1000多年前，以纪念（commemorate）率众修建都江堰灌溉系统（irrigation system）的李冰父子，同时表达尊重自然（pays respect to nature）之意。
都江堰水利工程使岷江两岸饱受洪水困扰的（flood-plagued）民众得以过上平静、富足的生活（peaceful and affluent lifestyle）。岷江水灌溉了四川省近7万公顷（hectare）的农田，并为四川赢得天府之国（the land of abundance）的美誉（reputation）。
在放水节期间，演员会扮演李冰及其助手，讲述都江堰的历史，并供奉谷物、蔬菜和家畜（livestock），在都江堰畔三叩九拜、宣读祭文、敬献祭品（pay tribute）等，以此来感恩（gratitude）这条养育了他们的河流。
在今年的活动中，青城（Mount Qingcheng）派掌门刘绥滨带领弟子世界小姐（Miss World）玛利亚在舞台中心表演了太极舞蹈（tai chi dance）。
