一、破题关键
穿衣体现性格? 此类话题可以说是老生常谈,在近十年前新托福官方指南公布的题库中就有类似的题目:
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? One should never judge a person by external appearances.
你是否同意以下观点?永远不应该从外表判断一个人。
People behave differently when they wear different clothes. Do you agree that different clothes influence the way people behave?
衣着不同,人们的表现也会不同。不同的衣着影响人们的行为方式,你同意吗?
此后类似话题经过反复包装又在大陆、北美等各个考区多次出现,因此认真备考的各位考生应该对其并不陌生。
然而实战证明,还是有相当一部分考生因为此题铩羽而归,甚至出现严重的跑题、偏题现象。其实破解此题的关键就在于严格按照题目原意表明观点、分析论述。考官希望考生谈论的是穿衣方式是或不是一个人个性、人品的体现,而非应该怎样穿衣,或者穿名牌好不好,从衣着上攀比好不好等。因此围绕“是或不是”进行是非判断,并配合大量举例论证,说明什么样的穿衣方式体现(或体现不出)什么样的个性、人品,同时减少“应该或不应该”等价值判断才是冲刺高分的关键。
二、论点分析
穿衣是否体现性格?此话题有很强的局限性,因此我们有以下两种论述:
同意:穿衣方式是一个人个性、人品的体现。
【理由】:
穿衣风格体现个性,例如乔布斯喜爱在产品发布会上穿着休闲衬衫,搭配牛仔裤,体现了他爱自由、爱创新的性格。
衣服的颜色体现个性,衣着颜色鲜艳的人,通常比较开朗活泼,经常穿深色衣服的人,通常比较严肃。
衣服的设计体现个性,喜欢时装品牌的人,通常比较前卫时尚,喜欢穿着职业套装的人,通常比较传统保守。
反对:穿衣方式不是一个人个性、人品的体现。
【理由】:
穿衣方式很多情况下是职业要求,例如警察、保安、学生等,统一的职业服装不能体现出人的个性。
很多人由于工作繁忙、时间紧张并不在意衣着,因此随意的穿衣方式不是个性的准确体现。
有些人由于经济困难,并不能按照自己的意愿选择穿衣方式,因此受经济条件限制的穿衣方式不是个性的准确体现。
三、语料整理
