Beijing is planning to list ice and snow sports as a compulsory course for primary and middle school students, announced by municipal authorities at the 2016 International Winter Sports Exposition.
在2016年国际冬季运动博览会上，北京市政府宣布，计划将冰雪运动列为中小学生的必修课。
Sun Xuecai, director of the Beijing Sports Bureau, said at the expo that Beijing would push the development of youth ice-snow sports, making sure young students have at least one hour to practice the sports every week.
北京市体育局局长孙学才日前在主论坛上表示，北京市将大力推动青少年冰雪运动发展，保证中小学生每周至少有一小时的冰雪运动健身活动。
Beijing is to put ski resorts in the suburbs and ice rinks in six downtown districts.

"Until 2022, 16 new standard indoor and 50 outdoor rinks will be built by the Beijing government", Sun said, adding that commercial rinks are not included in this figure.
