China's average salary will increase by 7% in 2017, according to the latest research by ECA International, an international human resource consultancy.

Subtracting an inflation rate of 2.3%, the 4.7% real rise in salary will be the 3rd highest in the Asia-Pacific region and 4th in the world.

Among China's first-tier cities, Shenzhen will see the highest increase of 5.2%, while Beijing is likely to experience the lowest growth of 3.2%, according to the research.
