You can bet on it. = You can be certain.

你可以确信。

例子： You can bet on it that if it is raining, there will be less empty taxis to take and you will be late.

你可以确信下雨的时候计程车不好叫，你会迟到。

2. Bet your life

把命赌上（绝对错不了）

You can bet your life it is. = I am very certain of something.

我有把握，绝对错不了。

例子：You bet your life I want my money back for that broken TV I bought.

我买的坏电视我要拿去退钱，这一点绝对错不了。

3. Better half

我的另一半

I will ask my better half. = I will ask my spouse. (Wife or husband)

我去问问我的爱人。

例子： Next week is my twentieth anniversary so I want to get a really nice present for my better half that will show her how much I love her.
