Each grasps an oar, and struggling on they go—
没人手握着一支桨，他们一路前行一路挣扎着——
Rivals in effort; and, alike intent

Here to elude and there surmount,

they watch the billows lengthening,
他们看到巨浪在延伸，
mutually crossed and shattered, and re-gathering their might;
相互交叉又打的粉碎，然后再次聚集起巨大的能量；
As if the tumult, by the Almighty's will,
就好像万能的上帝，
Were, in the conscious sea, roused and prolonged,
在大海里发动一场骚乱，愤怒而持久，
That woman's fortitude—so tried, so proved—
那位少女坚韧不屈的意志——天地可证，日月可鉴——
May brighten more and more!
愿这坚韧意志越来越熠熠生辉！

They stem the current of that perilous gorge,
他们在险恶的峡谷间逆流而上，
Their arms still strengthening with the strengthening heart

Though danger, as the Wreck is neared,

becomes more imminent.—Not unseen do they approach;
