We would meet often for lunch. 我们常在一起用午餐。（would可以表示他们现在也可能常在一起用午餐）
英文中表示“习惯”的动词除would外还有will和used to。will的意思是“经常、惯于、老是”，表示现在经常发生的动作，例如：
You will keep forgetting things. 你总是不断地忘记事情。
He'll often say something and then forget what he said. 他常常说些什么，事后却忘了说过的那些话。
used to和would的用法一样，都可以表示过去的习惯性动作，但又和would的用法有不同之处。它可以表示过去的一种状态，而且would不可以表示过去的状态。
I used to sleep late on Sundays. 过去我星期天总是起得很晚。(used to表示过去的习惯性动作时，可以用would代替。)
There used to be a swimming pool near the library. 过去在图书馆附近有一个游泳池。(used to表示过去状态，不能用would be代替。)
总结would, will, used to的用法：
(1) will表示现在的习惯性动作。
(2) would表示过去的习惯性动作，但这个动作可能持续到现在。
(3) used to表示过去的习惯性动作，也可以表示过去的状况。

such ... as ... 是“像……那样”的意思，as作关系代词与such配合使用，引出限定性定语从句。例如：

如果接电话的人刚好是杨小姐，她一般会这样说：Yes, Miss Yang speaking. Who is calling, please? 是的，我就是杨小姐，请问你是谁？这里英美人的说话习惯和中国人很不一样，他们不说：I am Miss Yang. Who are you? 而说：This is Miss Yang speaking. Who is calling, please?

Will you pass on a message to her?
如果要找的人不在，那么打电话的人就有可能让对方留个话：passing on a message。
这时打电话找杨小姐的人就会说：Will you pass on a message to her?（你能给她捎个口信吗？）或者说：May I leave her a message?（我给她留个话，好吗？）如果对方欣然答应，一般会说：Certainly. What is it?（当然可以，你说吧。）
