who while he was er a graduate student took a lot of law courses
and wrote a dissertation on coercion in which he discussed er legal issues
as well as philosophical issues, so he was a natural choice for that inaugural er fellowship and
er so he's done everything for this conference,
I've done nothing at all,
and it really is his invention to try to take the philosophical
and legal themes of the workshop in the direction of these issues of great contemporary importance.
The other er important decision that Scott made
and that we all support is making it an interdisciplinary conference.
Our Law school is lucky that we are on the same campus
and the same calendar with other units in the university and there's no other place where interdisciplinary cooperation flourishes the way it does here.
You can see that in the student papers themselves which came from so many different um, different units.
