One time when I was in London I ran into this lady who called herself "the moral consciousness of the subway"
and she must've been 75 to 80 and she was really funny
An, you know, they have regulations about who can sit on what seats,
"these seats are for the handicapped, these seats are for the people, mothers with children, and no one else may ever sit there"
And I got on the subway and started watching her, and she'd just yell at people
She'd say, "You can't sit there!" and stuff, and the people would jump up and move, and stuff
And, and after a little while I guess she realized I was watching her,
and she smiled at me and she said,
"Half of the general grouch session about what bothers us in America,
I'm carrying driver's rage 'cause I'm having ground heat seeking missiles installed behind my grill"
And so when somebody does something stupid, I just pulverize 'em , you know?
And it's gone
It's expensive, but you know, I figured it'd be good fun
Next time we'll see the great books, La Mort, d'Arthur based on Mallory's work, but it goes far a field and does some really interesting stuff
Then we'll pick up the next time and talk about Chrétien, and so you want to read the first part of Eric
If you're real good doobers, you might want to kind of at least glance through the introduction to that book
because there's some good stuff in there
But I'm pretty much of a realist and know that I can say that but, that doesn't mean it'll happen
Have a nice sunny day. See you next time
