Cal Gumbo asks:
Cal Gumbo问道:
"I just turned 18."
Bravo for you.
"How do I prevent myself from giving in to peer pressure when my friends drink alcohol?"
Say, "I do not want to do it" and then back off.
Tell 'em, "No, man, there's nothing you can do to make me go that way. I don't need that stuff in my body."
Say, "No, I'm not gonna do it. Waste your lives, but I am not."
Tell your friends that, you know, they're your friends, you like 'em, but alcohol is not something you want to be involved with.
Probably the easiest thing to do is to just always be the designated driver. And then you can — Then there's — Forget it, you're not gonna be drinking.
Hang around different kind of people that don't drink.
Make new friends.
Don't pay any attention to them. Just walk away. You don't need them. Find new friends.
Don't succumb to it. You don't have to drink. Why do you have to drink? And if someone gives you a hard time, just make a joke out of it and people are gonna think, "Wow, this person's cool and they're not even drinking or anything." It might even make them jealous of you, actually.
That's such a difficult situation. I really don't know what to tell you. You have to be strong. You have to think of yourself as an independent person and not follow what everybody else does.
