Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson is not happy with artificial intelligence giant OpenAI.

On Monday, she accused the company of creating a voice for its ChatGPT system that sounded "eerily similar" to hers.

Her comments came just hours after the firm said it was taking down the voice, called "Sky".

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a statement that Sky's voice was not an imitation of Johansson.

He argued it belonged to a different professional actress.

However, Johansson said Altman had approached her last September.

She said he'd offered to hire her to create a ChatGPT voice, and that she turned it down.

In a statement, she said, "Friends, family and the general public all noted how much the newest system named "Sky" sounded like me."

She added she was "shocked" and "in disbelief" Altman would pursue a voice that sounded eerily similar to hers.

Johansson said she had hired legal counsel to ask about the process of creating the voice.
