The New York Philharmonic has left North Korean capital for Seoul of South Korea after an unprecedented orchestra performance in Pyongyang.
Before departure, members of the American art troupe joined North Korean musicians to stage a chamber music concert in Pyongyang during an unprecedented visit by the orchestra.
The visit is expected to have a positive effect on relations between the United States and North Korea.
Choe Ki Hyok is the concert master with North Korea's State Symphony Orchestra.
"I think it would be good if the Philharmonic's performance here could provide an occasion for the United States to give up its hostile policy toward us and try to improve relations between our two countries."
The evening concert was met with five minutes of applause and waves from the audience. The concert's reach was extended beyond the theater through a live broadcast on North Korean TV and radio.
