Michael Jackson to Play 'Final' Concerts in London
American 'King of Pop', Michael Jackson, has announced a series of farewell London shows after a long absence from the concert circuit.
The singer appeared at a press conference for media and fans at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday.
Jackson repeatedly said "this is it" as he explained that the dates will be his last ever in London.
"I just want to say that these ... these will be my final show performances in London. I'll be performing the songs my fans want to hear, this is it, I mean this is really it, this is the final, this is the final curtain call. And I'll see you in July."
The star didn't specify how many shows he'll play, though posters have shown he's booked for 10 dates in July.
Tickets are expected to sell quickly despite concerns that the 50-year-old star may not be up to a return to the spotlight.
The King of Pop has been plagued by financial, legal, and medical woes for years and has not performed a major concert since 2001. Jackson has sold more than 750 million albums and won 13 Grammys. But he has appeared in public rarely since being acquitted of child molestation in 2005.
