A senior Chinese official says China highly values the development of its relations with the United States.
Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s Central Committee, discussed China-U.S. ties with some U.S. congressmen in Washington.
He says China is willing to work with the United States to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries so as to enhance strategic mutual trust, maintain close high-level communications and deepen bilateral cooperation.

The biggest demonstration has been staged in Moscow where the city's authorities gave permission for a 30,000-people rally.
During the four-hour demonstration, no clashes were reported.

Wang Chen, head of China's State Internet Information Office, made the remarks at a two-day national meeting that ended on Saturday.
He told the participants to use "more forceful and effective measures" to build and manage cyber culture and propel the development of cyber culture in a "healthy and orderly" way.
He urged the officials to use the Internet to guide public opinions and promote positive social values.
