Kelly Hoggan's departure as the Transportation Security Administration's head of security operations comes after a Capitol Hill hearing into the management of the agency.
There have been growing complaints about wait times at security checkpoints and lawmakers discovered Hoggan pocketed a 90,000 bonus, even though security lapses were discovered at airports across the nation.
He is being replaced immediately by Darby LaJoye, who has headed up security operations at the Los Angeles and JFK airports.
