It happened again, this time at Philadelphia International Airport. Two commercial flights, one from Paris, one from Munich, passengers on both quarantine. Twelve people complaining of flu-like symptoms. They all had taken off from Mecca, Saudi Arabia before catching connecting flights that landed here in the US. This follows yesterday's quarantine of an Emirates flight that landed at New York's JFK Airport. Ten people all experiencing some sort of illness.
That plane reportedly also had passengers on board from Mecca. Anytime you have people in a closed environment like that, where there's enormous amounts of people, these viruses can spread very easily. Health officials in New York say the Emirates passengers were suffering from the flu. There were a total of about 250 passengers and crew members on those two flights that landed here today. The CDC tonight says that the twelve or so who were feeling ill have all been checked out and released.
