It's a nerve-wracking saying. Two residents were trapped after rainfall triggered mud slide hit Wolong National Nature Reserve late Tuesday night. One was successfully rescued while the other was washed away by the floods. The country's Meteorological Agency has warned that the heavy rain in Sichuan could trigger landslides, mudslides floods and other disasters. Floods have already severely damaged villages and roads in the region. Water supplies, power and communications were also cut up in some villages. The country's Emergency Management Department has sent geological and flood control experts to the disaster hit areas. Firefighters, local police and officials in Luzerne County are working around the clock to evacuate residents and restore traffic in flood impacted areas. The torrential rain in Sichuan is expected to continue through Friday.
