A Ministry of Education official said over 12,000 Taiwan students and now receiving higher education on the mainland. The ministry says it will expand enrollment even further. Last month the mainland unveiled 26 new measures for cross-strait exchange. Policies include allowing Taiwan-funded companies to take part in key industries such as major technical equipment, 5G and civil aviation. The mainland wants to promote economic and cultural cooperation with Taiwan.
