在四、六级写作中，考生经常出现主谓不一致问题。所谓主谓一致指的是英语句子的主语和谓语在人称和数上应保持一致。它可分为三种情况:
(1)语法一致，即主语为单数形式，谓语动词也采取单数形式;主语为复数形式，谓语动词亦采用复数形式。
(2)意念一致，即从意义着眼处理主谓一致问题。有时，主语形式为单数，但意义为复数，谓语动词依据意义而定，也采取复数形式。
(3)比邻一致，即"就近原则"也就是说谓语动词的人称和数往往应与其最近的主语保持一致。
