Next time, when you think about trying to hide your report card from your mom and dad, you’d better think twice!(仔细思考) Your parents probably already know it!
With the click of a mouse, parents in the Minnetonka School District in Minnesota can log on(登录) to a website at home or work to look at their kids’ report cards,(点击鼠标,家长在家里或工作中就可以登录网站来查看自己孩子的成绩单了)grade books and attendance records(考勤记录) through an online report card and grading system offered by the school district. Students can also log on to the website, but through a different user name and password,so they can not change the password or keep their parents out.
Administrators(管理人员),teachers and parents in the school district are excited and have found it a useful tool. Dr Mark Larson, the Principal of Minnetonka Middle School East, thinks highly of the program. He said,“It’s so great. Both students and parents know what they are missing.” Sara White,a language arts teacher agrees,“I like the fact that the communication (交流)is improved between parents and students and parents can get immediate feedback(反馈) on how their kids are doing.”
Students in the district have had mixed reactions. (学生们对此反应不一)Some students simply do not want their parents to know so much. Joe Dunn,a seventh grader from Minnetonka Middle School East, said,“It will have the opposite effect. If I don’t do well, then my parents can find out and I’ll get punished.” Of course, there are some other students who show their love of the program.
