The apartment I live in now is located in Haidian District and it's in a very clean and convenient neighborhood. I've lived there for about three years. We used to live in a brick house,in a courtyard, but my father's business began to do very well so we can afford a better place.

There are 3 bedrooms in the apartment. One is for my father and mother and another is for me. The other bedroom is used as a guest bed room. The apartment is about a hundred square meters, and it has a large living room and two bathrooms—one is in my parents' room. We have some comfortable chairs and a fairly large TV in the center, we also have a stereo set and a karaoke set as well. I should mention that the kitchen is quite large compared to many other families because we extended it by knocking out the wall of another room. My mother likes large kitchen because she said she wanted a comfortable place to cook.

Frankly speaking I don't like the apartment very much,even though it is much larger and cleaner than our previous living place. I think I got too attached to my previous house. I grew up there and knew many children of the neighbors. We played in the courtyard after school, till the mothers called our names to have dinner. But here we know nobody. Every door is locked inside and people seldom exchange greetings. I think it's important to have friendly neighbors.
