New peak still ahead for Spring Festival Travel Rush
It is the twelfth day of the Chinese New Year travel rush, as a smaller travel peak has yet to come.
Information from the Ministry of Railways shows that tickets from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to Chenyu, Nanchang, and the provinces of Hubei and Hunan are almost sold out. Some trains still have tickets left for Saturday.
As for road traffic, the Ministry of Transport says the total passenger volume on Wednesday exceeded 80.5 million, which has seen a year-on year increase of 10.3 percent, a new record.
In addition, road traffic of some areas in Beijing and Tianjin and the provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong and Sichuan were troubled by heavy fog on Wednesday.
